A Healthy Outside Starts On The Inside

What we fuel our body with has the greatest impact on our health. Period.

Giving your body the nutrients it needs is the greatest act of love you could bestow upon yourself and your meat suit. As the saying goes 'genetics loads the gun, environment pulls the trigger.' We have the ability to switch our genes on and off - the easiest way to do this is through our diet and our lifestyle.

All the medication and supplements can't undo a bad diet and unhealthy lifestyle. These are our foundational pillars to health and often the most overlooked.

Eat for calm.
Eat for nourishment.
Eat for health.
...also eat for fun and enjoyment but keep this as a treat and not as a ritual 😉

Top 7 Health Tips

Hydration- how are your cells supposed to thrive, your liver supposed to process last nights vino and your skin supposed to be plump and dewy without water? They can't.

2-3L daily of filtered good quality water!

Eat your vegetables - Not just the salad on your sandwich. At least 3 cups of veg a day (extra points for more)! These are rich in phytonutrients - our powerful defenders of chronic disease. Eat the rainbow of coloured vegetables and fruits!

Fibre - I'm talking fibre with most meals. Not just Mexican night once a week. Essential for us to bind and eliminate toxins from the body AND feed our beneficial gut bacteria (which by now I've banged on enough about for you to know these are the real MVPs)

Cut the processed crap- always check the ingredients list. If there are numbers, ingredients you can't pronounce, canola oil or high fructose syrup, then ditch it. FYI MSG can often be disguised in the ingredient list as 'natural flavours, vegetable protein, hydrolyzed vegetable protein.' Sneaky sneaky.

Sleep- this is how we restore and repair. Get your 8 hours. Try switching off from the digital world 1 hour before bed.

Exercise- movement in any way that suits your body and feels good for you.

Detox your mind- what works for you? Sitting in stillness and mediating, surfing, working out, journalling, dancing, creating. There is no right or wrong.

YOU have complete control over what you fuel your body with - choose wisely!
